หากพูดถึงครีมกันแสงแดด หลายคนคงนึกถึง “ครีมที่ป้องกันแสงแดด ที่ส่องมาจากดวงอาทิตย์” โดยทาครีมให้หนา พกร่ม ใส่เสื้อแขนยาว แค่นี้ก็น่าจะพอแล้วใช่ไหม?

แต่ “ศัตรูตัวใหม่” ไม่ใช่แสงแดดอีกต่อไปแล้ว สิ่งนั้นคือ “แสงสีฟ้า” (Blue Light) หรือ High Energy Visible Light (HEV) ที่ไม่ได้มาจากแดดอย่างเดียว แต่มาจากหน้าจอโทรศัพท์ โน้ตบุ๊ค และแท็บเล็ตที่เราจ้องกันทั้งวัน

UV กับ แสงสีฟ้า: ต่างกันอย่างไร?

ครีมกันแดดที่เราคุ้นเคย ส่วนใหญ่ถูกออกแบบมาเพื่อป้องกัน รังสี UVB (ทำให้ไหม้) และ UVA (ทำให้เกิดริ้วรอย)

แต่ แสงสีฟ้า มีความยาวคลื่นสั้นกว่า UV จึงสามารถทะลุผ่านชั้นผิวหนังลงไปลึกถึงชั้นหนังแท้ (Dermis) และสารกันแดดชนิด Physical sunscreen ยังไม่สามารถสะท้อนได้ด้วย เพราะความยาวคลื่นที่สั้นกว่านั่นเอง

ผลเสียของแสงสีฟ้าต่อผิว มี 3 ข้อหลัก:

1. ตัวการสำคัญของ “จุดด่างดำ” (Hyperpigmentation) และรอยดำเหล่านี้รักษายากกว่า เพราะมันเกิดขึ้นที่ผิวหนังชั้นลึก

2. เร่งความแก่ (Photoaging) เพราะไปสร้าง “อนุมูลอิสระ” (Free Radicals) ในปริมาณมหาศาล ทำลายคอลลาเจนและอีลาสติน ทำให้ผิวเสื่อม

3. ผิวอักเสบและแพ้ง่าย: สำหรับผู้ที่มีปัญหาสิวหรือผิวแพ้ง่าย แสงสีฟ้าจะกระตุ้นให้เกิดปฏิกิริยาอักเสบมากขึ้น ทำให้สิวเรื้อรังและหายยากขึ้นกันแดดทั่วไปสู้แสงสีฟ้าไม่ได้

หากสังเกตฉลากครีมกันแดดทั่วไป เราจะเห็นค่า SPF (ป้องกัน UVB) และ PA (ป้องกัน UVA) แต่แสงสีฟ้า ต้องใช้สารพิเศษที่สามารถดูดซับ ความยาวคลื่น ของแสงสีฟ้าโดยเฉพาะเท่านั้น
